Design and creative direction for an event of classic soul, funk and rare groove music in London. The event theming evokes vintage soul and funk record sleeves with a twist of Baxploitation film style in the type design. The list of items encompassed postcards, social media branding, the event pages on the Sheen Resistance website, ticket service EventBrite, and Facebook, plus animated flyers on both YouTube and Instagram.
The animations were soundtracked with short, looping sections of classic tracks to support the theme and edited for their respective platforms. To build on the energy of the music, some of the promo clips featured watermarked background video of dancers, all textured in keeping with the early 70s rare groove theme.
The event sold out within 12 hours of the tickets becoming available.
