You wait ages, and then two come along together. Design Insider, for the BCFA (British Contract Furnishing Association) and IDA (Interior Design Association), art directed & designed by Jason Regan while at Agency Publicom, has been entered into the Institute of Internal Communication‘s 2013 awards in the categories of Best Membership Publication and Best Relaunched Publication.

Prior to the redesign at Publicom, the publication was primarily a listings document. Our solution was to approach it in the style of a heavyweight interior design magazine, with a view to both improving the perception of the BCFA, and the profile of its members. Incorporating picture-heavy case studies with some fantastic photography, a news section, plus areas devoted to manufacturing styles and processes, this achieved all that we set out to do and more.

The reaction to the 108pp publication was overwhelmingly positive both from the BCFA and their members, and showed that good design can be a highly effective business tool.
